John Fanning, Ph.D. is a clinical neuropsychologist who joined Jefferson Neurobehavioral Group in March, 2026. He has practiced in neuropsychology and brain injury rehab for nearly all of his career.

He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Memphis in 1983, completing his psychology internship at the New Orleans VA Medical Center. He subsequently practiced at the Greenery Neurologic Rehabilitation Center of the Gulf Coast, Touro Rehabilitation Center, and in private practice.

He served on the Executive Council of the Louisiana Psychological Association for several years, and as LPA president in 2013-2014. He also served as president of the Crescent City Applied Psychology Society and the New Orleans Neuropsychological Society.

In 2014 he was the recipient of the Louisiana State Police Lifesaving Award for intervening in a suicide attempt on the Crescent City Connection Bridge.
